Happyish Oracle Deck

Happyish Oracle Deck - Main image
$9.3 $15 In stock

Category: Misc. Gift

Studies have shown that the pursuit of happiness can negatively impact your mental health (wtf? . . . and yet, somehow, we suspected as much). Nora McInerny—celebrated author and host of the Terrible, Thanks for Asking podcast—gets it. She’s created this daily oracle/guidance deck for people who are done with the pursuit of unbridled happiness—and are ready to embrace its more stable cousin, a state of “happyish.” Each card represents a helpful thought that McInerny herself has relied upon when life got dark—nuggets like “Life is not a self-improvement exercise,” “You are not a sad story,” and “Let it be complicated.” Use ’em daily, weekly, hourly…whenever and wherever. No rules and no pressure.

Timothy ★★★★★

The cards have a nice, sturdy feel, and the little booklet that comes with it actually has some surprisingly thoughtful prompts. I gave it to my sister who’s been overdoing the “good vibes only” thing, and we ended up having a real conversation. It’s way more clever than I expected for a gag gift.

Brian ★★★★★

Bought this as a joke gift, but the premise is so oddly accurate that it made us all laugh. It’s a small deck that gets the point across without being preachy, and the card quality feels sturdy enough to pass around.

David ★★★★★

The cards are printed on surprisingly thick, nice-feeling stock. I've been pulling one each morning, and the honest, slightly cynical tone actually helps me feel less pressure to be positive all the time.
